1. Data controller

The data controller is Magyar Bence, the operator of LegendaryQuiz (legendaryquiz.com). Contact: magyarbence511@gmail.com.

2. What data we process and why

• Account: email address, username, password (stored only in encrypted, hashed form). Purpose: creating your account, logging in, email verification. Legal basis: provision of the service (contract) and your consent.
• Quiz results: the quizzes you complete, scores and timestamps. Purpose: gameplay, the leaderboard and statistics. Legal basis: provision of the service, legitimate interest.
• Guest progress: if you play without an account, a functional cookie (lq_guest) stores a random, anonymous identifier in your browser. Its sole purpose is to let us link the server-recorded results you achieve on this device to your account if you later register and verify your email. The identifier does not identify you on its own and is not shared with third parties. Legal basis: provision of the requested service.
• Technical data: IP address (for abuse and overload protection, rate limiting) and basic browser data. Legal basis: legitimate interest (security).
• Cookies: see section 4.

3. Data processors

• Brevo (Sendinblue, EU) — delivery of transactional emails (verification, password-reset messages).
• Rackhost — the hosting/server provider running the site and database.
• Google AdSense (Google Ireland Ltd.) — serving advertisements. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to serve, personalise and measure ads, subject to your consent (see sections 4 and 7). About Google's data processing: policies.google.com/privacy.

4. Cookies

In addition to strictly necessary cookies (session, language preference, login, and CSRF/security protection), the site uses advertising cookies placed by Google AdSense, subject to your consent. You can give, change or withdraw your advertising consent at any time via Google's consent banner — see section 7. Acceptance of the beta notice is remembered in your browser's local storage.

5. How long we keep data

We process your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your personal data is deleted or anonymised; quiz statistics may remain in anonymised form.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data (you can delete your account from your profile), to restrict processing, to object, and to data portability. For questions and requests, contact us at the email address above. You may lodge a complaint with the Hungarian data protection authority (NAIH, naih.hu).

7. Advertising

This site is supported by advertising. Our advertising partner is Google AdSense (Google Ireland Ltd.). Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show relevant ads and measure their performance. In the European Economic Area we ask for your consent for personalised advertising through a certified consent banner provided by Google; without consent, only non-personalised (contextual) ads may be shown.
